Horticulture Business Challenge Workshop-2026

On 15 July 2026, CEO Africa facilitated an interactive business development workshop for alumni of the Horticulture Business Challenge, a flagship initiative of the Ghana Netherlands Business & Culture Council (GNBCC). The session brought together entrepreneurs, start-up founders and aspiring entrepreneurs to strengthen the way they present, manage and grow their businesses.

The workshop focused on:
✅Having a clear value proposition statement
✅Drafting business plans and proposals
✅Mapping and visualizing the value chain of your business
✅Building businesses that can attract investors and partnerships
✅AI for businesss growth and operations
✅Financial record-keeping and investment readiness

The workshop opened with Agnes Anyawen, who guided participants through introductions and the development of clear value proposition statements. She also explored practical approaches to sales and marketing planning, helping participants communicate what they offer, who they serve and why customers should choose their products or services.

A key lesson from the session was that every entrepreneur should be able to explain their business clearly within one minute. A strong value proposition should not rely on complex wording. It should communicate the problem being solved, the value being offered and the specific benefit the customer will receive.

Joshua Bortey-Mensah continued the session by taking participants through the key elements of business plans and proposals, business systems mapping, and the requirements for building businesses that can attract investors and strategic partners. Participants explored how strong financial records, clear roles, reliable systems, market evidence and demonstrated traction can strengthen a business’s readiness for funding and partnerships.

The workshop concluded with Mawuko Govina, who led a practical session on using AI for business growth and operations. Participants learned how AI can support the creation of professional business flyers, value chain mapping, customer communication, business planning and the search for suitable funding opportunities.

The session was highly interactive, with participants applying the tools directly to their businesses, exchanging ideas and reflecting on the practical steps needed to improve their operations and growth potential.

Thank you to all the Horticulture Business Challenge alumni who participated, shared their experiences and made the workshop engaging and practical.
